Today (July 4, 2014): win 2 American Airlines system-wide upgrades and fly business or first class for free.
*** COMPETITION CLOSED ***
Last month, we gave away an American Airlines free upgrade. Today we are even doing better with our Summer Blog Giveaway: 2 systemwide upgrades (from economy to business, or business to first class) with American Airlines will be won by one lucky reader of this blog!
I love the new business class of American Airlines, as you can read here in my very first trip report. The business class in their Boeings 777-300ER is awesome, and American Airlines is currently also updating the business class product on their older Boeing 777-200 and 767 planes. Being an American Airlines Excutive Platinum member entitles me to 8 systemwide upgrades, and since I will not be able to consume all of them by the end of the year, I am giving away 2 of them in the blog’s second free giveaway.
An American Airlines Systemwide Upgrade entitles you to an upgrade of one class (economy to business, or business to first) on all flights of a one way itinerary that is operated by American Airlines or American Eagle (if upgrade space is available). So, your next trip may take place in the following cabin (be warned: flying will never be the same again when you are used to economy):
This giveaway has tremendous value to you if you have a trip booked (or will book a trip) that meets the following conditions:
- paid itinerary (not award).
- flights must have American Airlines flight numbers.
- flights must be operated by American Airlines or American Eagle (not partners).
- upgrade space must be available on your flights.
- the entire one way itinerary must be flown before 28th February 2015.
There are 3 ways to enter the Blog Giveaway (each entry increases your chances):
- Subscribe to our newsletter (3x/week) and share with us your ultimate dream destination (in the comments section of this post).
- Like us on Facebook and comment on our Summer Blog Giveaway Facebook post what your dream destination is.
- Follow us on Twitter and retweet this post with the hashtag #LTEgiveway.
Enter the competition before 31 July 2014 at 11.59 pm CET. One lucky winner will be randomly selected and receive the 2 upgrades.
Enjoy the weekend and stay tuned for Monday when we reveal a new top 10 travel list.

One dream trip is to fly from California to Italy (Rome) in AA Business/First and then sail Silverseas or Seabourn Cruise Line to Florida. Then fly back to California. This trip is truly on my ‘bucket list’ of things I must do in life.
Barcelona in Spain
Los Angeles 🙂
Dream destination is Capetown South Africa
My dream destination is Norway. I have always been intrigued by it and I don’t know why, but I’m drawn to it! I definitely want to visit there one day.
Galapogos Islands, my dream vacation for sure
Croatia! Looks magnificient!
A cross-country trip would be lovely in the forward cabin.
We’ll be booking a TATL from YYZ-LHR-BHD and back sometime in the Fall or early Spring. We’re both seniors and really looking forward to what may be our last TATL because of our advancing age. Been to London several times many years ago and really enjoy that wonderful city, and my wife is from BFS, so it’s a return visit for her to visit family and old friends. A business class upgrade would make a long trip that much easier on our already tired feet and bones.
Thanks for the chance to enter.
LA would be amazing. With a good friend to make your own story.
I would head down under to explore Australia and New Zealand!
Hong Kong! Visiting for the first time this October (mileagerun)! was up the long-haul coach ride from dfw but would love the swu! (ord-dfw-hkg-dfw-ord!)
