I have personally redeemed several free nights this way, including a stay at the magnificent Four Seasons Hotel Firenze. For example, Marriott Bonvoy offers a choice between an extra 25% discount or 5,000 bonus points when a claim is approved under its Best Rate Guarantee. By consistently choosing bonus points, you can accumulate a significant balance that can later be redeemed for free luxury hotel stays.
To identify lower rates, you can compare prices on aggregator websites such as Trivago and HotelsCombined. By systematically checking rates and submitting claims when appropriate, you can effectively “hack” Best Rate Guarantee programs to generate free hotel stays over time.
4. Get a Hotel-Branded Credit Card

Always raise the issue politely and calmly, either during your stay with hotel management or afterward through the hotel’s customer service department. A respectful and well-documented complaint often leads to a far better outcome than an emotional reaction.

Despite having reserved the room months in advance, no room was available upon arrival.
